Copyediting involves a detailed review of your manuscript to catch errors in spelling, punctuation, or grammar. During the copyediting phase, an editor may suggest rewrites of awkward or grammatically incorrect sentences. Copyediting does not include advice on plot, character development, or pacing. Copyediting is not the same as proofreading. The copyedit is done before the book is formatted and saved as a PDF, MOBI, or EPUB. Once the book has been formatted and saved as one of these file types, major rewrites can introduce errors such as gaps or places where text is compressed.
